Discovery Camp
(1/2 day or full day)
Little Mates: Jr. Kindergarten & Kindergarten
Young Explorers: Rising 1st - 4th grade
Keepers of the Earth: Rising 5th - 8th grade
Week 1: June 27 - July 1
Discovery: Amazing Race
Travel around the world in just 5 days as you complete physical, mental and creative challenges. Experience the excitement of the fabulous counties the Amazing Race will take you to. Your passport will be stamped at every port of entry. Join the race and see the world!
Week 2: July 5 (Tues.) - July 8
Discovery: Barnyard Palooza
Down on the farm we will have a goat! We will take advantage of Sussex County’s extensive agricultural area. Crafts and activities will focus on daily life in the barnyard. Tend the vegetable garden and help build a shelter and pen for our future school pet!
Week 3: July 11 - July 15
Discovery: Splish! Splash! Splat!
If it Splishes, Splashes or Splats we will be doing it!

Discovery: Ooey...Gooey!
Fun and food that is oh so Ooey Gooey! This week is sure to please the kid who loves to experiment in the kitchen and create art projects that are very hands on!
Week 5: July 25 - July 29
Discovery: Survivor! TJS Campus
Don’t get voted off the campus!! We are sure that everyone will survive this fun filled last week of TJS Summer Camp! Create your own “buff” as we test you skills in daily challenges. Will you be awarded the “immunity necklace” and be “safe” at TJS campus council?
Specialty Camps - 1/2 Day
Tuneful Trebles: Rising 3rd - 8th grade
Week 1: June 27 - July 1
Week 2: July 5 (Tues.) - July 8
Morning only 8:30 to 11:30am.
In partnership with the Southern De Choral Society, The Jefferson School will offer two weeks of chorus and music. Each week will focus on ensemble participation, singing techniques, percussion and Orff instruments and dance/movement. Basic music theory, sight reading and ear-training will be covered with a performance at the end of each session. Campers can enjoy a single week or both sessions for a more in depth musical experience. Taught by TJS music and choral teacher, Ms. Ann Freeman and SDCS Maestro Extraordinaire Mr. John Ranney.
No Fear Shakespeare: Rising 5th - 8th grade
Week 1: June 27 - July 1
Morning only 8:30 to 11:30am.
Come learn the basics of Shakespeare without the fear of not understanding what the heck he is talking about! In this fun filled camp you will explore one of Shakespeare’s most popular works and even perform a tragedy or two!
Archery: Rising 5th - 8th grade
Week 3: July 11 - 15
Morning only 8:30 to 11:30am.Archery is a sport of precision and skills. Come learn or improve on your techniques while having a blast in this unique summer camp offering!
Fencing: Rising 5th - 8th grade
Week 3: July 11 - 15
Afternoon only 12:30–3:30pm.
Fencing is one of four sports that have been a feature at all modern Olympic Games. Join the fun as you learn techniques and safety tips.
Specialty Camps - Full Day
Navajo Indian Language & Culture: Rising 5th - 8th
Week 4: July 18 - 22
Full Day (8:30-3:30) $225
Blackhorse Mitchell; medicine man, author, artist, and professor from the Navajo Reservation. Campers will participate in all aspects of traditional Native American life from moccasin making to food and cultural practices they will have the opportunity to experience it all!
Survival Camp: Rising 5th - 8th grade
Week 5: July 25 - 29
Full Day (8:30-3:30) $250
Campers will learn basic survival skills including how to construct a shelter, knot tying, foraging for food, navigation, first aid, and leadership skills. Daily hikes and one overnight will also be included.

AM Camp 8:30am - 11:30am • $125/week
After Care 3:30pm - 5:30pm • $50/week, $10/day
PM Camp 12:30pm - 3:30pm • $100/week

Lunch and Free Play/Rest Time • 11:30am to 12:30pm
