Constance R. Hendricks, Ex Officio
Connie brings more than 24 years of experience with independent private school teaching to The Jefferson School. Connie, who has always had a love for teaching, began her career as a teaching assistant. Later, as a teacher, she taught various subjects including: art, math, language arts and social studies. Over the years, she has instructed students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. Connie transitioned to administration when she became head of the Upper Level of Centreville School in 1999. She served in this leadership position until 2008 when she moved to the admissions office to direct enrollment and financial aid for Centreville School. The Jefferson School’s educational philosophy is one that Connie understands and embraces. As a teacher and administrator, she is familiar with play- and project- based learning approaches. She is an advocate of the benefits of multi-age groupings, integrated curriculum and individualized instruction. Connie believes that a school should work as a team; not only within its own structure, but with the families and wider community. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management and her Master’s in Education from Wilmington University.
